Sounds in Halo2 come in 3 different formats:

1. Windows Media Audio (WMA) - Any sounds of this type can be played by using Microsofts Windows Media Player.

2. ADPCM Mono 22050kbps and 3. ADPCM Stereo 44100kbps - These two are xbox only codecs, and so are not initially playable with Windows Media Player. In order to be able to play these formats we will have to use a bit of h4x:

- Download this and unzip it.

- Right click "XBADPCMinst.inf" and choose 'install' - Now wait for it to finish installing the codec
- Right-click "My Computer" and select properties, the hardware tab, the "Device manager" button
- Expand "Sound, video and game controllers" and double click "Audio Codecs"
- Go to the Properties tab
- Double click "Xbox ADPCM Audio CODEC"
- Be sure "Use this audio codec" is enabled
- Change codec priority to 1
- Click "OK"
- Windows Media Player will now play sounds of these types :)

NOTE: This has only been tested on Windows 2000 Pro and Windows XP Pro. Also, there may be side effects from changing the priority, but there have been no reports as of yet.
